Job duties:   

  • Manage the daily tunnel construction operations, and train new employees in the use, operation, and maintenance of the tunneling equipment;
  • supervise and direct the tunnelling crews on company procedures;
  • track progress and monitor daily workflow;
  • identify potential errors that need to be corrected and train local employees on corrective measures; establish equipment and personnel schedules; direct professional engineers and surveyors on design and alignment elements;
  • liaise with estimators to monitor site costs;
  • organize equipment and determining TBM size to be used on project;
  • plan tunnelling site set up, which involves outlining where the separation system, control container, tunnelling pipes are to be installed for the works;
  • direct the tunnelling crew and professional engineers on procedures;
  • plan and evaluate tunnelling projects from design through to completion by examining project specifications and geotechnical data to determine ground conditions on the project;
  • oversee the workings of jacking in the wet cast high pressure reinforced concrete microtunnel pipes. Travel required 10-20% of the time to various unanticipated project construction sites in the West region (CA, OR, NV, WA, AZ, and UT) in the U.S.

 

Requirements:

  • Must have 5 years experience as a Tunnel Construction Manager.
  • Must have 5 years experience in construction management of microtunnelling projects in excess of 1500LF (linear feet) in length and greater than 72 inches in diameter.

 

Salary Info:       

The annual salary for this position is $140,566-$180,000.
