Job duties:        

  • Responsible for hiring, training, overseeing and directing the work of junior Engineers and surveyors on the project sites as well as the equipment operators, excavator and concrete finishers.
  • Provide direction and oversight to these employees on a daily basis on the correct methods and means to be used on each project.
  • Responsible for overseeing and directing the concrete caisson and micro-tunneling construction projects from conception to completion, including planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating reinforced concrete caisson and micro-tunneling throughout the construction process to ensure timelines, specifications and project budgets are met.
  • Review each project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate construction costs.
  • Review the work progress on a daily basis and ensure that contractual conditions of performance are met and prepare reports for clients detailing the progress and status of the project.
  • Responsible for developing and ensuring implementation of quality control standards, policies and procedures for the site staff and provide leadership, direction and training for new crews as required.
  • Recruit, hire and train professional and labor employees to perform the day-to-day duties required for caisson construction and oversee the caisson sinking activities on a daily basis to ensure project specifications and client requirements are met.
  • Spend approximately 65% of time on managing professional junior engineers and surveyors and the crews working on site as well as managing the concrete caisson construction operations.
  • Oversee the caisson construction projects while subordinates perform the day-to-day duties which include, but are not limited to:
    • (i) initial marking of shaft position and reviewing placement during construction;
    • (ii) cutting of required joints and grooves in concrete to control cracking;
    • (iii) setting and placing forms to proper elevations and location;
    • (iv) installation of anchor bolts and steel plates;
    • (v) site preparation, excavation and set-up;
    • (vi) proper positioning of concrete formwork during shaft sinking;
    • (vii) surveying of the project site and shaft. Travel required 10-20% of the time to various unanticipated project construction sites in the West region (CA, OR, NV, WA, AZ, and UT) in the U.S.

 

Requirements:              

  • Must have 5 years experience as a Caisson Construction Manager managing microtunnelling projects in excess of 25ft internal diameter and greater than 50ft in depth.

 

Salary Info:       

  • The annual salary for this position is $140,566-$180,000.
